Aaron Schaffer

Aaron Schaffer is an assistant editor working on the Early 202 newsletter at The Washington Post.

He loves digging through documents like government contracts, financial disclosures, and archived correspondence for stories.

Before becoming an assistant editor, Aaron was a researcher for the Cybersecurity 202 and Technology 202 newsletters. He previously studied investigative journalism as a student in American University's Journalism and Public Affairs master's program.

Aaron used to work at Al-Monitor, a news organization covering the Middle East and North Africa, from 2016 to 2020. In 2020, he received a Best in Business Award from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers (SABEW) for a newsletter on Middle East lobbying.
